The project proposed housing concepts to be in line with the critical environmental problems that may occur in Hong Kong 2119.
Hong Kong is a compact island and high-density city. The future of Hong Kong is highly doubtful.The lowland areas of Hong Kong are experiencing population displacement. People tend to migrate to higher ground in the city. This critical density problem, both crowded and bad environment, causes people to increase stress in their life. In the future of 2119, people may find their solution to survive a bad environment but yet maintain lifestyles .
This proposal is a conceptual design of a prototype housing project that makes use of space-constrained design by inventing mega undergrounded residential units that are comfortable but compact. The missing Hong Kong lifestyles will be added by providing many types of common areas to fulfill. The buildings can be ventilated and cooled by the use of existing natural resources.
